What makes a trailer wrap last?

Commercial trailer wraps need conformable cast vinyl, a compatible protective laminate, and careful installation around rivets and seams. HP Latex prints leave the printer dry for immediate lamination. Film selection, surface preparation, exposure, and care determine the finished wrap’s performance.

Our premium commercial specification uses 3M IJ280 or Arlon SLX+ cast vinyl with a compatible protective overlaminate, selected for the actual trailer. HP Latex printing and controlled ONYX preparation support the production workflow. Inspection, a measured panel layout and written proof approval come before printing.

What to compareOur premium commercial approachQuestions for a lower-priced bid
Rivets and seamsPremium cast film specified for the measured geometry; installed and post-heated to product instructions.Check the exact film’s approved applications. A flat-surface film is not automatically suitable for deep channels or rivets.
UV fade and service lifeMatched film, ink and laminate; written job-specific warranty and care instructions.Ask for the same complete construction and warranty. Price alone does not establish service life.
Print-to-laminate turnaroundHP Latex prints are dry and ready for immediate lamination; design approval and bay availability still determine delivery.Solvent workflows may require drying or outgassing before lamination, depending on the ink and media specification.
RemovalA suitable cast film and a planned removal window help manage removal; inspect paint and follow the film instructions.Adhesive, age, paint condition, exposure and removal method affect residue and labor with any film.
Five-year cost per impressionCompare design, installation, maintenance, removal and any replacement costs against measured impressions.A low purchase price can lose its advantage if the required maintenance or replacement costs are higher. No universal impression or lifespan figure applies.

Five-year cost per impression = total five-year graphics costs ÷ measured impressions over that period. Your routes, parked exposure, service life and replacement history determine the result.

Cast vinyl, matched laminate, standard cleaning, print and installation. Custom design is a separate $600 line item.

Use exterior usable panel measurements. For a V-nose, exclude the rectangular front and add the two measured nose panels. Roof coverage is excluded. Partial coverage is a planning allowance; the final layout determines the measured area. Partial packages retain the published $3,495 minimum including selected design.

1. Measure the actual panels

Choose coverage and send four-side photos, exterior measurements and obstacle details. V-nose faces and rear doors are measured separately.

2. Approve the scope and design

We check the surface and artwork, confirm the written price and payment requirements, then identify the exact proof revision for approval.

3. Produce and inspect

Approved panels move through ONYX preparation, HP Latex printing, protective lamination, installation and the final inspection.

Installation is at our Stillwater shop, serving the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin. A requested date becomes a confirmed appointment only after the scope and actual bay availability are verified.

Built for the real world.

Snow, sun, road grime, cleaning, handling, tight timelines, and future changes all affect the right production plan.

01

Make the business easy to read

Prioritize the business name, trade, phone number and one next step. Place the message where doors, handles, seams and fenders will not interrupt it.

02

Specify the film and laminate together

Premium cast films such as 3M IJ280 and Arlon SLX+ are selected with a compatible protective laminate. Surface condition and geometry determine the final specification.

03

Keep partial coverage intentional

A partial wrap or large graphics package reduces coverage while retaining a clear hierarchy. Compare the actual measured panels and finished layout.

04

Keep repeat work consistent

Retain approved layouts, panel dimensions and production references so future units and replacement panels can be reviewed against the original job.

Before you quote.

How much does a commercial enclosed trailer wrap cost?+

Standard enclosed trailers estimate at $15 per covered square foot, with $600 for custom design. Complex food trailers start from $18 per covered square foot and require inspection. Large spot graphics estimate at $16 per graphic bounding square foot, subject to the published minimum. The calculator separates design from production and installation.

Do you wrap cargo trailers for contractors?+

Yes. We plan enclosed cargo trailer graphics for contractors, landscapers, roofers and mobile service businesses. The design prioritizes the business name, trade, phone number and one clear next step, while keeping important information away from seams, handles and hardware.

Can you wrap trailer rivets, corrugations and a V-nose?+

We inspect the actual skin, sealants, rivets, seams and geometry before specifying film and installation. Measure both V-nose faces separately rather than pricing the nose as one flat front. Oxidation, failing paint and silicone contamination can require preparation, adhesion testing or a revised scope.

Why use cast vinyl such as 3M IJ280 or Arlon SLX+?+

These premium cast films are intended for demanding vehicle graphics when used within their manufacturer specifications. A compatible laminate and proper installation complete the system. A particular calendered film may be suitable for some flat graphics; we do not treat every calendered product as equivalent or promise an automatic failure date.

How soon can you laminate HP Latex trailer graphics?+

HP states that Latex 630 vehicle-graphics prints come out dry and ready for immediate lamination. That removes a print-drying wait from that step, but proof approval, material availability, surface preparation, installation and inspection still control the complete job schedule.

Is a partial trailer wrap cheaper than a full wrap?+

Usually, because fewer covered square feet require less material and installation. A partial layout still needs design, setup and alignment. Our partial trailer packages retain a $3,495 minimum including selected design. Compare the finished coverage and written scope, not only a percentage label.

What artwork and photos do you need?+

Send vector logos in AI, EPS or a suitable PDF; high-resolution images when needed; straight-on photos of both sides, front and rear; and exterior panel measurements. Include doors, vents, handles, fenders and other obstacles. A PDF is not automatically vector or print-ready; we verify it before production.

Where do you install commercial trailer wraps?+

St. Croix Wraps & Graphics installs at 15625 95th Street North, Stillwater, Minnesota. We serve businesses from the Twin Cities, Minneapolis, St. Paul and Western Wisconsin. Confirm the inspection and installation appointment before bringing your trailer.
